Where are the special offers?
In the last few days, as expected, we have received a lot of requests regarding Black Friday on Twitter and Instagram if we have come up with something again. After our offers were more than well received in recent years, the question is justified. Well, Black Friday is exactly today and so far there is nothing to see from corresponding special offers on the websites of our two labels. Also our Schnupperspecial (can be translated with something like "Taster Special"), which we traditionally offer after the yearly German election webhoster of the year. as a "get-to-know-you" product has been as long in coming as an announcement about the election or its outcome itself. With today's post, we not only want to inaugurate this blog (the other categories still need to be filled with life), but also provide a brief insight into the background.
All-round renewal
Although our vServer infrastructure has been upgraded in terms of the hardware used over the last nine years - hard to believe, that's how long we've been offering VPS - modernized several times and published several new product generations, a somewhat dusty and hardly developed SolusVM has been working in the background from the very first day - until today. For our other products like Webhosting or TeamSpeak servers we are running dedicated host systems which are virtualized using KVM virtualization to better "encapsulate" them (i.e., simpler backups, migrations, upgrades, ...), but this is no longer quite up to date. Therefore, starting in the summer of 2022, we have been working on building a new virtualization infrastructure that can be used for (virtually) all products in the future and is state of the art in all aspects. There will be a whole blog series on the development of this infrastructure with lots of visual material.
Long story short: We've been putting all our energy into the new virtualization infrastructure for several months and are making good progress, but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be for Black Friday.
Black Weekend
Since we have received so many requests, we will still think of something for Black Friday in the course of the evening and conjure up one or the other offer for you. Just keep an eye on Twitter and Instagram Since we're starting so late, we'll keep the offer online past midnight and provide you with as many servers as possible over the weekend - while supplies last!

One thing does not change this year: we usually do not make special offers on regularly orderable products, but think of something special. Unique this year is the introduction of an unlimited traffic flat rate. There is no throttling and of course, as always with us, no hidden costs!
